I really like AK. For many reasons. Firstly for his mad website, Passion For Cinema, for his crazy blogs, for the way he responds to anyone who asks a question in his comments thread, for Black Friday, for the script of Satya, for the way No Smoking become a Rorschach test for idiots who thought they had imagination (just ask people what the film is about, and what they did/did not like about it - you pretty much figure out everything about them). Yes, so I really like Anurag Kashyap. More so because he holds contests for young film makers, writers, editors - he recognizes the stupid and incestuous nature of the Mumbai film brothel Industry, and actually tries to short circuit some of the hierarchies. A few weeks ago he had a short film festival, where young directors were asked to submit one minute films. All available on the website. So now he is doing the same for film mudslinging and ass kissing reviews.
